v1.10.0Latest2026-08-26
Show each visitor only their own entries.
NewEntry visibility: restrict a table to the entries the logged-in user created. Administrators can optionally still see everything, and you choose whether logged-out visitors get an empty table or the lot.
NewField conditions: show only the rows matching your rules, with dynamic values — {current_user_email}, {current_user_id}, {today} and more — resolved per visitor. Match all conditions or any of them.
AddedBoth restrictions are applied in the entry query itself, so paging, CSV/Excel/print exports and PDF reports all see the same restricted set. A PDF request can no longer be pointed at an entry the visitor isn’t allowed to see.
NewCustom columns: build a column from Formidable merge tags instead of a single field — [25] [26] combines a first and last name, and any HTML, conditional logic or [frm-math] you can use in a View works here too.
NewBadge format: render a value as a coloured pill. Pick one colour, map colours per value (Approved=#059669, Pending=#ca8a04), or let each value colour itself. Multi-value fields get one pill per value.
NewCustom action buttons: add your own buttons to the Actions column, linking anywhere, with merge tags like [id] resolved per row. Choose an icon or a text label, and whether it opens in a new tab.
NewSearchPanes columns are now yours to choose. Mark a column “Always show a pane” and only the columns you pick get one — previously DataTables guessed from how varied each column was, which looked arbitrary.
AddedEditable wording: rename any column heading, reword the delete confirmation dialog (heading, message, both buttons, and a neutral or destructive style), and set your own empty-table message.
FixedColumn headings could not be renamed at all — the builder displayed them as plain text with no way to edit.
FixedRow action buttons did nothing when a row was opened in a detail or modal view. They were bound to the table, but both modals are appended outside it, so the buttons rendered and then ignored every click. Actions now work in the table, in a Responsive child row and in either modal.
FixedThe per-row PDF button had no styling of its own and rendered without its button chrome.
v1.9.02026-06-09
Filter which entries a report includes.
NewNew “Filter entries” section in the PDF builder: save always-on conditions so a report only includes matching entries — e.g. Status is Open, or Price greater or equal 500000.
AddedTen operators: is / is not / contains / does not contain / greater-than / greater-or-equal / less-than / less-or-equal / is empty / is not empty. Conditions combine with AND.
AddedAuthor filters are separate from any front-end filtering visitors do, and stack on top of a Formidable View’s own filters. Views saved before this update render exactly as before.
v1.8.12026-06-02
Multi-form Canvas views.
Added“Build from View” now mirrors every data block of a multi-form Canvas view — one table per block, each pulling its own form’s entries (it previously only used the first block).
AddedPDF table elements can pull rows from a specific form, so a single report can combine tables from different forms.
v1.8.02026-06-02
Canvas views work in the PDF builder too.
NewThe PDF builder’s View picker now lists your Formidable Canvas views alongside Formidable Views — each is labelled by source, pick either as a data source.
Added“Build from View” mirrors a Canvas view’s chosen fields into a customizable PDF table; [dtff_pdf_button view="fc:5"] exports the whole Canvas view.
AddedCanvas integration is optional — it only appears when the Canvas plugin is active.
v1.7.02026-06-01
Turn an existing View into a PDF — one click.
NewIn the PDF builder, pick a Formidable View and click “Build from View” — it mirrors the View’s columns (including calculated ones) into a table you can then customize: rename, remove, reorder, add columns, style the header/logo/page.
NewWhole-View export: [dtff_pdf_button view="<id>"] renders every entry the View shows, honouring its filters and sort.
AddedTable columns can now be a form field or a custom Formidable expression (e.g. [frm-math]), so a View’s calculated columns carry straight into the PDF.
v1.6.12026-05-30
PDF Reports list polish.
FixedRemoved a duplicate “+ New report” button on the PDF Reports screen.
FixedThe reports list now counts a template’s elements (the old “Blocks” count always showed 0 after the page-builder rework).
v1.6.02026-05-30
PDF reports from Formidable Views — calculations included.
NewPoint the PDF report builder at an existing Formidable View, not just a form. Its fields and calculation fields are ready to drop in.
NewNew “Calc / Formidable” element: paste any Formidable expression (e.g. [frm-math], [frm-stats]) and it’s evaluated per entry exactly the way your View renders it — so a View’s calculated columns come through in the PDF.
AddedDrop a [dtff_pdf_button template="…" entry="[id]"] into a View row to download that entry as a PDF. It’s also in the Formidable view-editor’s shortcode helper menu, one per template.
AddedText elements now resolve Formidable shortcodes / merge tags too, so you can mix calculations into free text.
v1.5.12026-05-29
Field-level formatting.
NewPer-column formatting: dates (05/26/2026, “May 26, 2026”, relative…), numbers & currency (decimals, thousands separator, symbol & position), text transforms (UPPERCASE / Capitalize / truncate), and prefix/suffix.
AddedSet it from the gear icon on each column. Applies to the table and its CSV / Excel / PDF exports — and dates & numbers still sort correctly.
AddedThe same formatting is available on field elements in the PDF report builder, so PDFs show values formatted too.
v1.4.02026-05-29
Easier PDF builder + row-pick PDFs.
NewStarter templates (Document · Invoice · Complaint · Table report), drag fields straight from the palette into place, duplicate any element, and live sample values shown on each field card.
NewEditable column labels in data-table elements.
FixedFront-end row picking for PDFs: a checkbox column + select-all let you tick exactly the rows you want, then “PDF selected”.
ChangedPDF reports can only be attached to a table built on the same form.
v1.3.02026-05-29
Visual PDF page builder.
NewA true no-code page builder for PDFs: click fields from your form to place them, drag to reorder, set each element’s width to lay things out side-by-side, and rename every label.
NewElements: fields, headings, text, images, data tables, signatures, dividers, spacers, page breaks — plus a fully customizable repeating header (logo size, band height, title size/colour, alignment) and footer.
AddedLive PDF preview as you build. Reports tie to a table; from the front end, select any rows and generate on the fly.
ChangedBuilt on our own engine (mPDF) — works on free Formidable, no PDF add-on.
v1.1.02026-05-29
Custom PDF reports — no add-on required.
NewDesign your own PDF report templates (HTML/CSS + merge tags) under DataTables → PDF Reports — built-in engine, no Formidable PDF add-on needed.
NewPer-row “Generate PDF” button, plus a “PDF selected” bulk button for multi-row reports (e.g. a production plan from selected orders).
AddedMerge tags for any field, entry/date/site values, and a repeating {#rows} block for multi-entry documents.
v1.0.02026-05-28
Production release.
NewFirst stable 1.0 — the full builder, every DataTables extension, in-place entry editing, theme-proof rendering, and style presets.
ChangedSecurity & WordPress-standards hardening pass: output escaping, input sanitization, capability + nonce checks, and scoped entry deletes.
FixedEntry editing opens Formidable’s editor pre-filled in a clean modal; styled delete confirmation.
v0.5.02026-05-28
The full extension suite.
NewEight more DataTables extensions wired into the builder: FixedColumns, ColReorder, RowGroup, RowReorder, Scroller, Select, KeyTable, and StateRestore.
AddedEach is a toggle in the Features tab, with options where needed — freeze N columns, group-by column, selection style, virtual-scroll height.
ChangedThe asset loader still only enqueues the extensions a table actually uses.
v0.4.32026-05-28
Entry editing polish.
FixedEdit now loads the entry correctly — uses Formidable’s entry key and native edit mode.
FixedRemoved the WordPress admin bar from the add/edit modal.
ChangedDelete now shows a styled confirmation dialog instead of a browser pop-up, with toast feedback.
v0.4.02026-05-28
Edit your data, right from the table.
NewActions column — add, edit, and delete Formidable entries straight from the table.
AddedAdd / Edit open a modal that embeds the real Formidable form, so every field type and all validation work natively.
AddedPermissions mirror Formidable exactly — controls only appear for users with the matching entry capabilities; visitors see a read-only table.
AddedDelete goes through Formidable’s own API (capability-gated REST endpoint with a nonce).
ChangedThe Actions column stays pinned and visible even when the table collapses on mobile.
v0.3.22026-05-28
Alignment controls + device preview.
AddedHeader alignment and cell-content alignment — left, center, or right — per table.
AddedDesktop / Mobile preview toggle. Mobile renders at phone width in a device frame so you see the real responsive behaviour.
v0.3.12026-05-28
Images that behave.
AddedImage thumbnails open in a full-screen lightbox instead of a new tab.
ChangedImage and file cells now center their thumbnails.
v0.3.02026-05-28
Style presets + a true-to-life preview.
NewStyle presets: Default, Minimal, Striped, Bordered, and Dark — one click to restyle the whole table.
ChangedThe builder preview now uses the exact same renderer as the front end and scales the full desktop layout down to fit — a real mirror of what visitors see.
AddedHeader / cell alignment, density, and a full per-table colour customizer.
v0.2.02026-05-28
The table builder.
NewVisual table builder: pick a form, drag columns to choose and reorder, toggle features, theme it, and copy the shortcode.
NewStandalone, theme-proof front-end styling built on DataTables 2.x — your tables look identical on any WordPress theme.
AddedAlways-on live preview pane, sticky beside the controls.
AddedSmart cells: image / logo URLs render as thumbnails (even without a file extension); email, phone, and address fields auto-link.
AddedPublic sharable page at /dtff/{slug}/ and a one-click DataTables sidebar inside the Formidable Views editor.
v0.1.02026-05-28
Initial release.
NewFirst release of DataTables for Formidable Forms.
AddedLicensing infrastructure (Solo / Studio / Agency / Developer plans).
AddedAutomatic plugin updates via Dashboard → Updates.
AddedAdmin shell with All Tables, Add New, Settings, and License screens.
AddedFull DataTables.net extension catalog bundled (Buttons, SearchPanes, SearchBuilder, Responsive, FixedHeader, FixedColumns, ColReorder, RowGroup, RowReorder, Scroller, Select, KeyTable, StateRestore).
